Well cuttings are routinely collected and catalogued while drilling, and in many cases represent the only tangible samples of the target interval.  Depending upon the service provider the samples may or may not be photographed, and may or may not receive more than a cursory examination before they are poured into a sample envelope, and stored away in a box.  

HD Cuttings™ imagery is designed to take advantage of the rich data source represented by cuttings.  When imaged at 40 – 80x magnification it is possible to resolve microfossils... even fine silt.  The imagery is delivered in digital format along with our HD Microscope, a virtual microscope on your desktop.
